Jordi Roglans-Ribas received his B.S. in Energy Technology from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (1982) and his Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering from Iowa State University (1987). He has been at Argonne National Laboratory (ANL) since 1987. He initially worked on sodium-cooled reactor technology, followed by work in the International Nuclear Safety Program for Soviet-designed reactors, and more recently, in the Generation IV nuclear energy systems initiative, where he co-chaired the international steering committee for the Sodium Fast Reactor, and served as technical director of the expert group developing an assessment methodology for proliferation resistance and physical protection.
He currently manages the Research and Test Reactor Conversion department in the Nuclear Engineering Division at ANL. He is the Technical Director for the U.S. Department of Energy’s Reduced Enrichment for Research and Test Reactors program.
