 Mr. Marin Ciocanescu is a Senior Researcher within the Institute for Nuclear Research, Pitesti, Romania.
The technical education in the nuclear field was received at the Polytechnic School in Bucharest (1967) and, after being hired by the mentioned Institute, he was Manager of the Research Reactor, Technical Deputy Director and then Director of the Institute until 2005.
Leading projects for reactor utilization and research reactor safety, the main achievements concern the reactor commissioning in 1979, implementation of several irradiation loops and capsules for fuel irradiation, participation in activities coordinated by the IAEA for drafting safety standards in research reactors and team member in the field of safety evaluation of research reactors. Mr. Ciocanescu has acquired a large experience in this area since 1984.
