Samuel Anim-Sampong

Mr. S Anim-Sampong is a Senior Scientific Officer and Head of the Nuclear Engineering and Materials Science Department of the National Nuclear Research Institute of the Ghana Atomic Energy Commission in Accra, Ghana. He is also the Ag. Reactor Manager of the Ghana Research Reactor-1 (GHARR-1) Centre which operates the 30 kW(th) GHARR-1 facility, a commercial version of the Miniature Neutron Source Reactor.

Mr. Anim-Sampong is a Reactor Physicist and has been engaged in R&D activities in this field since 1991. He holds academic, professional and training qualifications in Physics –with-Mathematics, Reactor Physics, Nuclear Engineering Reactor Operations and Management. His research interests include Monte Carlo transport modeling and simulation of nuclear systems, neutronics and reactor design, criticality safety analysis, radiation transport and shielding, nuclear waste management and nuclear power reactors.

He is presently a Visiting Scientist/Scholar at the Nuclear Engineering Division of the Argonne National Laboratory where he is working with colleague scientists in the RERTR Program on HEU-LEU R&D conversion activities.
